Gamedev.js Survey 2027

State of Web Game Development in 2027

Details

We, the Gamedev.js Community (led by Andrzej Mazur from Enclave Games, creator of the js13kGames competition), were wondering what tools and technologies people use to develop web games, how much do they earn, what monetization strategies are they using, and more. There was almost no up-to-date, solid data on the topic, so we decided to ask the community directly and publish the results afterwards.

The Gamedev.js Survey 2027 will open around Gamedev.js Jam 2027: we'll be collecting feedback, updaing questions and answers between April 5th and 17th, open the survey form between April 18th and May 18th, and publish results on May 31st. You can see the Reports from previous years: 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 if you'd like to compare the results. Any help getting as many answers as possible this year will be much appreciated!

Prizes

To encourage participation we will be giving away a cash prize of $500 total to 10 random folks, $50 each. To be eligible you'll have to leave your email address in the form as we will need a way to contact you afterwards about the details of redeeming the prize.
