It’s that time of year again, Game Off 2024 hosted by Lee Reilly and Github under way! This game jam is the perfect opportunity for developers of all skills to build and share their creations. Solo developers and teams; large and small, are welcome to join this month-long challenge. Github encourage the use of all tooling, libraries, programming languages, game engines, and AI.
What you need to know
- Sign up: If you don’t have a GitHub account, create one for free. You’ll also need an itch.io account, which you can link to your GitHub account.
- Join the Jam: Head to itch.io and join the Game Off 2024 event.
- Create a GitHub repository: Make a public repository to host your source code and any assets you can share. Push your changes before the deadline on December 1st.
- Have fun!

You will get the chance to play and vote on other entries. Voting will open shortly after the jam ends and will remain open until January 8th, 2025, at 13:37 PT. Games will be rated in categories like Overall, Gameplay, Graphics, Audio, Innovation, and Theme Interpretation.
