The fourth officially announced challenge in the upcoming Gamedev.js Jam 2026 after the Open Source, Wavedash, and Phaser ones is all about preparing your game for YouTube Playables.
Create a single player game that would entertain audiences on YouTube. It can be any genre or art style you like as long as it isn’t too violent or specifically made for kids.
Keep in mind Playables are currently available for players in United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, and Malaysia, but developers globally are allowed to participate. Make sure to check the Playables Developer Portal for more information.
The challenge prizes look tempting for the top entries:
- 1 × featured marketing in Discord
- 7 × Gemini AI Pro for 12 months
- 10 × fast track to Playables
- 10 × swag
Winning games will be picked by three experts from the YouTube Playables team: Lu Liu, Paul Bliudzius, and Meg Campbell.
That’s it, join the Jam on Itch if you haven’t already and make sure to check out the brand new #looking-for-team channel in our Discord if you need a teammate!
