OWLS16 is a fantasy console framework designed to let you easily make retro games. The language is JavaScript, with an API that closely matches the popular Pico-8.
Fantasy consoles are always limited in their scope, meant to mimic older systems.
This console has specific requirements defined by the LoSpec Jam 2 rules:
- 256×224 resolution
- 16 color palette console16
- colors are not allowed to be mixed, post processing effects are not allowed
- 8 button controller: 4-way direction page, A, B, Start, Select
You can visit the project’s Itch page, look at the sources on GitHub and dive into the Readme for details.
