LittleJS Game Jam challenges winners

The overall results of the very first LittleJS Game Jam were announced a few days ago already (check out the video with the top10 games), and now is the time to present the winners of the extra challenges: Cozy, Arcadia, and Endangered Species.

All three were introduced and judged by the OP Guild team. The participation requirements were as follows:

  • Cozy ($200 donation to charity): cozy games are relaxing, non-violent, and low stakes. Make the best cozy game and win money for your favorite charity!
  • Arcadia ($200 prize): favorite game submitted to Arcadia, just put your jam game on arcadia.fun to be eligible.
  • Endangered Species ($100 prize): include any endangered species in your game to be considered.

Out of 35 entries submitted to the jam in general, 6 ended up in the Cozy challenge (A Hedgehog’s Search, 204Snake!, Void Village, Entailment, Catch a Kitten, Watch the Pups), 7 in Arcadia (Tetrimals, Noah’s Ark, G.A.T.O.R., Oh Sheep!, Jabali, 204Snake!, Animal Gatcha), and 4 in the Endangered Species challenge (Noah’s Ark, Jabali, Pallas Prowl, How Animals Sound). Now, let’s announce the winners.

Cozy: A Hedgehog’s Search

A Hedgehog’s Search by Willsm1111 is a relaxed adventure puzzle game with no combat, pretty decent sized game for a jam and all works really well.

A Hedgehog's Search

OP Guild feedback: our vote for the cozy game, the fishing mini-game is a fun bonus. Reminds us of A Short Hike!

Arcadia: 204Snake!

204Snake! by Sodoj and Shai-P is a chill puzzle game, but also the overall winner of the game jam and a few other prizes.

204Snake!

OP Guild feedback: a game that’s a great fit for Arcadia, merges two genres and makes it fun!

Endangered Species: Jabali

In Jabali by Svntax you can play as an endangered silverback gorilla rescuing babies from attacking leopards.

Jabali

OP Guild feedback: awesome retro art and fun hectic gameplay!

That’s it! Congratulations to the winners, all participants, and thanks so much to Frank Force for organizing this wonderful game jam – first, but hopefully not the last.
