2025 Vibe Coding Game Jam

Organized more or less spontaneously at the end of March by Pieter Levels, the Vibe Coding Game Jam (where you participated by creating a web game using AI) ended with more than half a thousand entries.

In the year 20XX, the digital realm faces a new challenge. Creativity dwindles as AI-generated content floods the market. But hope remains in the form of human creativity merged with AI assistance…

Branded as the fusion of human creativity and AI assistance, this game jam was hosted only for a few days and still received an impressive amount of entries. The rules of participation were as follows:

  • Game must be at least 80% written by AI (code, assets, etc)
  • Game must be instantly playable on web – no logins, signups or loading screens
  • Game must be free-to-play and hosted on its own domain/subdomain
  • Game can be single or multiplayer, using any engine (ThreeJS recommended)
  • Add the code to your game to show you’re a participant (in the submit form)

Vibe coding is the latest trend allowing players to become content creators, dynamically changing the game development landscape. Given how many folks participated, out of which many are not even web game developers, it would be interesting to study the quality of those submitted games.
